Hi! Does anyone check the email address listed above? I sent multiple messages over the last TWO MONTHS requesting information about running events, but heard nothing but crickets.
Dave:
Please keep me on your email list for next year. While I can’t make it across state for the upcoming game, with more notice next year, I may be able to put a miniature game on. I have put games on for years at Spartacon (Lansing), Little Wars (Chicago), Pro or Con (Dearborn), and Kalamazoo.
Usually I say “historical wargame or Pulp Fiction wargame” but after seeing your logo and all the RPG, board games, and what not, I’m excited to get back building my Winter Dog Sled Race game. After reading a book by a guy who recently did the Ididarod races, I came up with a lot of ideas that I can mix real, imagined/hallucinations out there, with some Pulp Fiction era bad guys here and there, to create a totally unique dog sled race game.
I will be needing a 12″ x 5/6″ table that I will have players run their individual dog sleds down each length, around the corner, and back up the other side of the long divided backdrop, (a sky backdrop background runs down the middle of the table length). This will allow me to change the terrain features and obstacles once the players round the corner of the first side to the other side of the backdrop divider.
So please put me on the advance GM list so we can coordinate times and dates. To make it worth my long drive and couple hour set up, I usually run 2 back-to-back games and typically like to set up the night before because my 3D tables take time to set up and populate with buildings, terrain, figures, or whatever I’m putting on. I’m from Grand Rapids and one of these days, hope to get a similar game con going over on this side of the state.
My group is intrested but this site does not seem to have any info what do we need to know? we are very new and have no idea how to get involved in one of these events
Hey Dave!
Auto repairs may put a trip to Michigan out of reach for this year… I am out of Vacation too! But look for me to try and come during the summer to Mich-Con. If things change and a miracle happens (and I get a carpool & group trip together – with some of my cohorts here) I will let you know on here. Those are a lot of ‘IFs’… but you can never count me out.
I am WAY out of the way in Milwaukee. If I was in Ann Arbor or Kalamazoo, I would be waiting at the door when it opens. But Anyone interested in coming here on a winter weekend with clear roads is welcome to make a weekend of it here… no hotel needed, I have plenty of Guest space… Some time in April I would love to see a WI vs MI all air tournament weekend, if I can work something out with Dave of I-94 Enterprises… WWI, WWII, Korea, Falklands scenarios… whatever we can come up with… I feel like taking “Bloody April” game weekend to an interstate level…
Getting my Vietnam-based rpg event ready and really looking forward to the convention. Now that I have a job, I can also support our great vendors by buying some wares, and also get some raffle tickets.
Looks like a lot of great games to warm us up from the winter! Keep up the great work Alan and the rest of the MDG staff and happy holidays to all!
Looking for miniatures events for this years Wintercon, Dec 2,3 at the Oakland University student center. Let me know ASAP as event slots wil be filling up!
David:
Looking forward in bringing my expanded “Wings of War: Balloon Objective” game over. Will be traveling across state and look forward to being able to take in the city Friday night before setting up Saturday. Sure hope someone is putting on “Mansions of Madness” during the morning or afternoon Saturday because I would love to learn how that game is played. And if all goes well, maybe next winter I may bring my Alaskan Dog Sled/ Pulp Fiction game.
I’d like to know more about Winter Con.
Specifically prices. Parking situation. Game schedules.
Anything you think A man with two teen agers should know before taking pains to attend.
A free Napoleonic Wargame is available at labataille.me. Everything you need but dice is located there. We suggest you have Staples print the map.
There are not strings or gimmicks of any kind.
Um we went to the Oakland center at Oakland university and there was no one there where is it we have been looking toward to this for such a long time is there a 2011 winter con or was it canceled
Sorry for delay in response, Candie and Madie! We’d love for you to come out for MichiCon this June.
When you get to the Oakland Center, if you enter through the front doors, you have quite a ways to go.
Proceed forward past the lounge/eating area until you must turn left to continue. Proceed that way – you will see a small lounge with a fireplace on the right. Continue forwards a little ways, and our main room will be on the right. The sign-up desk is usually there.
Hope to see you there, and our apologies for any confusion.
Dragon Direct Distributors is considering demos of ‘Hostile Aircraft’ and ‘Fires in the Sky’, along with a free-form ‘Wings of War’ tournament.

Hi everyone, wondering if it is too early to ask about WinterCon 2012. Wondering if there is any way I can help out with preparations?
